Representatives respectively from electronic casino game manufacturers the Aristocrat group and Novomatic AG are among those due to take part in a summit on digital artificial intelligence or “AI”, organised by the Gaming Standards Association (GSA).
Nimish Purohit, senior director for technical compliance at Aristocrat’s United States-based unit Aristocrat Technologies Inc; and Johannes Wilms, senior data scientist at Novomatic, are slated to attend the GSA’s Technology Summit titled “Focus on Artificial Intelligence”.
The GSA noted in a written announcement about its event, that AI offered the ability to “parse large volumes of data, identify patterns, learn those patterns, discern probable outcomes and make recommended actions based on that learning”.
This it said, had potential applications in the gaming sector. They included “early identification of potential problem gamers based on analysis of actions,” and “tracking patrons feelings and analysing their needs and interests allowing for the creation of better gaming experiences”.
Other potential uses of AI technology in the gaming sector were in relation to anti-money laundering, “identifying most valuable players,” and “identifying efficiencies for revenue maximisation,” said the GSA.
Others due to attend the event on November 6 and 7 in San Diego, California, in the United States, include Joe Pisano, the founder and chief executive of the Manila, Philippines-based Jade Entertainment and Gaming Technologies Inc. Mr Pisano told GGRAsia in a recent interview his firm was expanding its involvement in new technology with potential applications for gaming.
Also expected at the summit are John English, partner and managing director of sports and technology for industry consultancy Global Market Advisors LLC; and Andrew Cardno, chief executive for Innovation Gaming Group.
