Veteran gaming-sector executive Kelcey Allison, who had been appointed Aruze Gaming Global’s chief operating officer (COO) during the launch phase of the brand in 2023, has left the business.
Mr Allison (pictured in a file photo) was most recently the senior vice president of corporate initiatives at the firm. He flagged his departure in a Wednesday update via social media platform LinkedIn. GGRAsia has approached Mr Allison for comment on the move.
According to his LinkedIn page, he had been global COO on a full-time basis from September 2023 to November last year. Since November and up to this month, he had been senior vice president of corporate initiatives, a role he pursued on a part-time basis.
It had been a “tough decision to step away” from the gaming equipment supplier, Mr Allison wrote in the update.
He stated, referring first to the Aruze Global Gaming parent business: “After an incredible journey with Empire [Technological Group], and the acquisition of Aruze [Gaming America’s assets], I have made the tough decision to step away.
“Leading this company to new heights has been one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences of my career,” he added in the Wednesday post.
Aruze Gaming Global is aiming for “strong growth” in the Asia Pacific slot sector this year, mentioned last month Betty Zhao, senior vice president of international operations at the company, in comments to GGRAsia.
During 2024, the supplier had been granted licences by a number of jurisdictions in North America and also in Asia, including in Macau and the Philippines.
Las Vegas-based Play Synergy, a company of Empire Technological Group Ltd, had in 2023 acquired some Aruze Gaming America Inc assets, principally its slot business.
In February that year, Aruze Gaming America had filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the United States’ Bankruptcy Code, in “the wake” of a legal matter involving a judgment against that gaming equipment supplier.
Subsequent to Play Synergy’s acquisition process for the legacy firm’s slot interests, the entity Aruze Gaming Global, also known as “AG2”, was created.
