Ng Man Sun, a veteran of Macao’s VIP gaming industry, is returning to the helm of Hong Kong-listed Century Entertainment International Holdings Ltd.

Mr Ng has been appointed chairman and executive director of the company, according to a filing released on Wednesday. Following the move, effective already on Wednesday, Tang Ho Ka stepped down as chairman; he remains an executive director and chief executive of the company.

Mr Tang, according to the filing, confirmed that there were no disagreements with the board over the transition.

Mr Ng, 78, previously served as both chairman and chief executive of the company from 2012 until stepping down in May 2025.

The company, which operates VIP gaming rooms in Dara Sakor, Koh Kong province, Cambodia, has recently sought to diversify its footprint by expanding into online gambling in the Philippines.

In November last year, Century Entertainment said it had signed a “non-binding letter of intent” with a casino operator in Vietnam to “explore the possibility of expanding the group’s gaming operations” to that country.

Mr Ng was described in Century Entertainment’s latest filing as “a highly respected veteran of Macao’s gaming sector with over four decades of experience”, with a career spanning VIP gaming, junket operations, and casino investment management.

Under the terms of a three-year service agreement, Mr Ng will receive monthly remuneration of HKD15,000 (circa US$1,916), subject to annual review.

Trading in Century Entertainment’s shares has been suspended since June last year. It “will remain suspended until further notice,” the company said in its Wednesday filing.
