Concerto Stack, Fortune Cup key for Asia 2020: Konami

Casino equipment brand Konami is targeting for 2020 further placements in Asian markets of its Concerto Stack slot machine cabinet (pictured) and supporting games, as well as its multi-station horse racing game “Fortune Cup” . So said company representatives in comments to GGRAsia on the sidelines of the MGS Entertainment Show 2019, a trade exhibition and conference held at the Venetian Macao casino resort.

Matthew Loon (pictured right), product and marketing manager at Konami Australia Pty Ltd, said the group had identified demand for Fortune Cup beyond Macau, and would continue to focus its sales effort on the product for 2020.

The company stated that so far during 2019 the product had been installed in five venues in the Macau market.

Fortune Cup is described as a multi-station horse-racing game that combines the mechanics of traditional arcade horse-racing games with the sophistication of digital technology for betting and game presentation. The game can include 12 individualised betting stations per unit, with a touchscreen interface.

The arcade-style horse racing product placed in the Macau market features Cantonese voice-overs from Samuel Hung – well-known in Hong Kong for his horse racing commentary work – for the video animations on the games.

“We have more orders for it [Fortune Cup] in different markets, like Cambodia; Vietnam,” international technical manager at Konami Australia, Dominique Louise (pictured left), told GGRAsia. He noted that Konami was also targeting the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia casino markets for sales of Fortune Cup.

Regarding Concerto Stack, “next year we should have the new Concerto Stack cabinet approved in Macau, which should be a key driver for us,” Mr Loon said. The 4K resolution graphics and the 43-inch HD vertical displays are signature features of this tall-screen cabinet, the firm’s representatives highlighted.

At the trade show, Konami also showcased “Ba Fang Jin Bao”, a four-level progressive slot product available on the Concerto Stack cabinet. The Ba Fang Jin Bao series has two titles: “Fortune Totems” and “Abundant Fortune”, both featuring four-level linked progressive jackpot and high volatility in the games.

Ba Fang Jin Bao is likely to be approved for the Philippines market “in early 2020,” Mr Louise noted. The brand also aims to launch the product in Macau and other Asia-Pacific markets, the Konami representatives said.
