Philippines-listed DigiPlus Interactive Corp says its board elected, in a meeting held on June 19, Tommy Hu Jianguo as the group’s chief executive. Rick Li Jiaqi has been appointed chief digital officer, the firm said in a Friday filing.
Prior to their appointment, Andy Tsui Kin Ming was responsible for running the company as its president. According to local media reports, Mr Tsui will remain as DigiPlus’ president.
In the Philippines, the brand runs BingoPlus, described as that country’s first government-approved online bingo platform. It also operates ArenaPlus, a sportsbook; and GameZone, a platform for casual and arcade gaming.
DigiPlus additionally operates – via subsidiaries – a few slot arcades at VIP clubs under the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor), the country’s regulator-cum-operator.
Friday’s announcement described Mr Hu as a “seasoned software engineer and strategic business leader with over two decades of experience spanning platform innovation, gaming operations, and enterprise-scale technology leadership”.
Before his appointment as CEO, Mr Hu “played a pivotal role in transforming DigiPlus from a land-based gaming operator” into a tech-driven “digital entertainment brand,” stated the firm.
Mr Hu “helped shape the company’s vision, driving modernisation, and embedding a culture of innovation across teams and technologies,” it said, adding that the executive “helped launch and scale” BingoPlus.
As CEO, Mr Hu will be responsible for helping DigiPlus “expand into regulated international markets,” stated the company.
DigiPlus was the winner of a Brazil sports betting and online gaming licence, which it will operate via a local unit, DigiPlus Brazil.
In May, DigiPlus confirmed the “official incorporation” of DigiPlus Global Pte Ltd in Singapore. The new subsidiary “will serve as the company’s international hub, driving its global ambitions through strategic partnerships, talent acquisition, and corporate support,” according to the parent company.
In Friday’s announcement, DigiPlus also confirmed Mr Li as chief digital officer. He most recently served as head of solutions for South and Southeast Asia at Ant Group, where he oversaw regional tech strategy for Ant International’s product lines.
Described as having more than 15 years of experience in fintech, digital payments, and technical leadership, Mr Li is expected to “guide DigiPlus towards digital innovation and success in the ever-evolving digital financial ecosystem,” stated the firm.
DigiPlus reported net income of PHP4.20 billion (US$73.3 million currently) for the opening quarter of 2025, on revenue that rose 69.2 percent year-on-year, to just above PHP23.06 billion.
