Philippines-listed DigiPlus Interactive Corp has plans to establish a new company in Singapore, called DigiPlus Global Pte Ltd. The proposal was approved by the firm’s board of directors on Wednesday, stated the firm in a filing on the same day.
DigiPlus Global will be wholly owned by Diginvest Holdings Inc, a 100-percent subsidiary of DigiPlus Interactive, according to the announcement.
The new Singapore company “will serve as a support function centre and regional hub, dedicated to strategic partnerships, talent acquisition, and international growth,” said DigiPlus Interactive.
The parent company said DigiPlus Global would “focus solely on corporate and operations support functions,” and “will not engage in any iGaming operations in Singapore, strictly adhering to the country’s regulatory framework”.
The update cited Eusebio Tanco, DigiPlus Interactive’s chairman, as saying: “Singapore is a world-class hub for business, technology, and talent, making it an ideal base for our global initiatives.”
He added: “With the incorporation of DigiPlus Global, we are strengthening our ability to attract top-tier professionals, forge strategic alliances, and enhance our international presence, all while remaining deeply committed to our home market in the Philippines.”
DigiPlus Interactive is a Philippine holding company with investment in gaming and leisure businesses, including bingo services and a digital sportsbook platform.
In 2022 the firm launched an online bingo service, BingoPlus; and, in February 2023, the company introduced ArenaPlus, a new brand for its sports betting operations.
DigiPlus Interactive was among the companies awarded a sports betting and online gaming licence in Brazil.
Earlier this month, the company said that up to PHP3 billion (US$51.7 million) was earmarked this year for the group’s existing Philippines business and short-term support for its Brazil venture.
