FBM Foundation says it organised on June 14 a blood donation drive at One Corporate Center, Pasig City, in the National Capital Region of the Philippines. The initiative, themed “A Drop of Blood is a Gift of Life”, saw FBM Foundation partner with the Philippine Red Cross, in celebration of World Blood Donor Day.
FBM Foundation supports humanitarian actions to help Filipino communities affected by natural disasters. It is coordinated by the FBM brand, a maker of casino slot machines and an international specialist in electronic bingo machines.
In a recent press release, the FBM Foundation said more than 50 volunteers joined to support the June 14 initiative, with 40 individuals completing blood donations.
“In just a few minutes, each donor made a lifesaving contribution in a true act of compassion that reflects the growing volunteer spirit across our communities,” stated the organisation.
“Now a proud annual tradition, FBM Foundation’s blood drive is more than just an event, it’s a movement for health and humanity,” it said.
“By encouraging regular blood donation, FBM Foundation helps secure the supply of safe blood across the Philippines while uniting people around a shared purpose,” it added.
The announcement cited Pepe Costa, FBM Foundation’s representative in the Philippines, as saying: “This initiative is more than just a campaign, it’s a movement. It reflects our shared responsibility and the power each of us holds to make a difference.”
The FBM Foundation said the latest initiative was part of a “larger roadmap of purpose-driven actions” by the organisation, “designed to uplift Filipino communities through long-term support”.
These included providing critical equipment and medical supplies to local institutions; supporting students through scholarships and materials; promoting wellness and preventive care; and providing relief support in response to natural disasters.
