American casino operator Maverick Gaming LLC says it has appointed Brett Kline – who has management experience in the Macau market – as its chief marketing officer.

In a written announcement issued on Monday, Maverick Gaming said Mr Kline would begin his new job on Thursday.

He will be in charge of direct mail operations, promotions, events, rebranding and integration of marketing platforms, and newly-acquired companies.

The announcement said Mr Kline had worked in the gaming industry for more than 20 years.

According to Mr Kline’s LinkedIn social media page, from November 2011 to July 2015 he was senior vice president of relationship marketing for Sands China Ltd, the subsidiary of United States-based Las Vegas Sands Corp that runs casinos in Macau.

In that position he was – according to the press announcement – a colleague of Eric Persson, the chief executive of Maverick Gaming.

Mr Kline has also worked for U.S.-based casino operator Caesars Entertainment Corp. More recently he was chief marketing officer of U.S.-based loyalty marketing firm House Advantage LLC.

The Maverick Gaming announcement quoted Mr Persson as saying: “We are counting on Brett to bring his proven marketing expertise to Maverick. We needed someone hands-on, nimble and with a proven track record of success.”

In late April Maverick Gaming said it had appointed another ex-Sands China executive, Tim Merrill, as its president of operations in the U.S. state of Washington.
