Galaxy Arena, part of casino resort complex Galaxy Macau on Cotai, has announced a renewal of its three-year strategic partnership with the TMElive brand, created by Tencent Music Entertainment Group.

“Under the newly extended agreement, both parties will continue supporting Macau’s quality development in culture and tourism and presenting multifaceted musical spectacles to music lovers, by leveraging shared resources and market-leading advantages,” stated Macau gaming operator Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd in a Monday press release.

Building on a partnership started in 2023, a variety of musical shows has been hosted at Galaxy Arena, “drawing top-tier international entertainment to Macau”, according to the update.

From August 22 to 24 this year, Galaxy Arena hosted the 2025 TMElive International Music Awards (TIMA), the event’s debut edition; and the 2025 Tencent Music Entertainment Awards (TMEA), now in its sixth edition.

As per the announcement, the two events “have attracted top pop stars from Asia and the Pacific to Macau, to engage in a series of musical keynote events, while receiving commendations for their contributions to the music industry”.

The update said that both TIMA and TMEA would “remain key highlights and a priority” for Galaxy Arena under the renewed partnership.

“The two parties are set to co-host a wider array of music performances – including large-scale concerts, music festivals, and celebratory ceremonies – leading to more immersive and culturally-focused galas,” it added.

Under the renewed agreement, a new programme “will allow Tencent Music Entertainment Group’s online members to enjoy priority access to select, co-organised events”.

The release cited Francis Lui Yiu Tung, Galaxy Entertainment’s chairman, as saying that since it opened in 2023, the group’s 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena “has become a favourite among show organisers, performers, and audiences alike”.

“In the first half of 2025 alone, we hosted close to 190 events at Galaxy Arena and the adjacent Galaxy International Convention Center, welcoming thousands of attendees from around the world,” observed Mr Lui.

He added: “We’re excited to continue our partnership with TMElive, which has proven to be a powerful driver of cultural exchange, tourism, and entertainment in Macau.”

Cussion Kar Shun Pang, executive chairman of Tencent Music Entertainment Group, said in prepared remarks that since the inception of the TMElive brand, the group has “produced over 300 high-quality shows”.

He added: “This renewed partnership with Galaxy Arena will allow us to continue innovating and expanding the reach of Chinese music, both regionally and internationally.”
