Macau casino firm Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd says it has renewed a three-year “strategic partnership” to organise cultural and entertainment-related events in Macau, as well as to establish other supporting publicity and ticketing services.
The partnership (ceremony pictured) includes Damai Entertainment Holdings Ltd and Macau Pass Holding Ltd, according to a Chinese-language announcement issued on Wednesday by the casino firm.
Damai Entertainment is a Hong Kong-listed entertainment company that provides live-event services, including event ticketing, content investment and production, event promotion and distribution, and on-site services. The company was formerly known as Alibaba Pictures Group Ltd.
Macau Pass – acquired in 2022 by Hong Kong-listed AGTech Holdings Ltd – is a Macau-based mobile payment provider.
The partnership will see the three parties collaborate to host “large-scale” live events in Macau. That includes concerts, awards ceremonies, musicals and other theatrical performances, as well as sports events and exhibitions, the announcement said.
In 2023, a subsidiary of Galaxy Entertainment signed a three-year agreement with AGTech Holdings, Beijing Damai Cultural Media Development Co Ltd, and Alibaba Pictures Group Ltd to bring cultural and entertainment events to Macau. That first agreement runs until February 7, 2026.
Since the partnership started in February 2023, Galaxy Entertainment has hosted shows from China’s “top-tier performers”, “large-scale variety shows”, and other events, according to Wednesday’s update.
Galaxy Entertainment operates various performance venues at its Cotai properties. That includes the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena at Galaxy International Convention Center, part of the Galaxy Macau casino resort; as well as at G Box, a 850-seat venue within Galaxy Macau; and the 2,500-seat Broadway Theatre at Broadway Macau, next door to Galaxy Macau.
