Macau casino firm Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd (GEG) says its GEG Youth Achievement Programme (YAP) has provided “diversified training and cross-sector exchange opportunities” to over 3,600 participants aged 18 to 29, since the programme’s inception in 2011.
The initiative, jointly organised with the Macau Management Association (MMA), is based on three core themes: “self-awareness”, “community care”, and “career development”, as per a recent press release.
On January 22, GEG held a commencement ceremony for the trainee intake joining the 15th edition of the programme.
At the same gathering, there was a graduation ceremony and award presentation for participants from the 14th edition of the programme.
Philip Cheng, a director of GEG, said in prepared remarks: “Over the years, we have worked closely with MMA to build YAP into a dynamic platform that brings together diverse elements of learning and exchange.”
GEG “will continue to support young people to ‘reach out, reach beyond’, pushing past their limits and achieving excellence,” Mr Cheng added.
The announcement cited Tommy Lau, MMA council chairman, as saying: “MMA is committed to advancing the holistic development of local youth. Together with GEG, which shares our vision, we have co-organised YAP for many years, providing solid and diverse activities and training to help participants grow academically, professionally, and socially.”
