Resorts World Genting, Malaysia’s monopoly casino resort, is to host on September 9 and 10 the second edition of an event called “Genting SustainBiz”. It will be held at Genting International Convention Centre.
The complex’s promoter, Genting Malaysia Bhd, said in a recent press release that Genting SustainBiz 2025 would “serve as a dynamic platform for collaboration and innovation”, given “Malaysia’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050”.
The announcement added that leaders in the sustainability field would showcase three key topics: responsible development, biodiversity protection, and resource efficiency.
The casino firm stated that this year’s event “boasts an exceptional lineup of influential speakers,” including “more than 10 international speakers”.
The update cited Spencer Lee, executive vice president for sales, marketing and public relations at Genting Malaysia, as saying: “Sustainability is no longer a choice, it is a necessity. In the hospitality industry, every choice we make, be it big or small, shapes the world we leave behind.”
He added: “At Genting Sustainbiz 2025, we are not just talking about change, we are driving it forward through meaningful conversations and impactful collaborations.”
The two-day Genting SustainBiz also includes workshops, networking opportunities and knowledge-sharing sessions.
The inaugural edition of the event, dubbed “Genting SustainBiz F&B Expo”, was held last September at Resorts World Genting (pictured in a file photo).
Five memorandums of understanding, worth MYR12.0 million (US$2.7 million currently), were signed at last year’s event, according to Genting Malaysia.
