Gaming Laboratories International LLC (GLI) says it has been named an ‘independent testing laboratory’ (ITL) by the Philippines gaming regulator, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor).
“GLI is the first gaming testing company to achieve the accreditation and is now authorised to test and certify iGaming platforms in the Philippines,” the gaming technology testing group and security consultant said in a Monday press release.
The accreditation system is said to reinforce regulatory oversight as the market in the Philippines continues to expand. It also aligns with Pagcor’s broader push to strengthen compliance, enhance player protection, and ensure industry sustainability.
Under the new framework, all business-to-business (B2B) iGaming suppliers in the Philippines are required to undergo accreditation to demonstrate adherence to strict regulatory and technical standards.
GLI said it would apply its “GLI-19: Standards for Interactive Gaming Systems” when evaluating submissions.
The company said the GLI-19 standard has been widely adopted across multiple jurisdictions and is designed to ensure the integrity, fairness, and security of online gaming systems.
The announcement cited Pagcor chairman and chief executive, Alejandro Tengco, as saying that regulated gaming markets “ensure a safer and more sustainable gaming industry for all to participate in”.
“A regulated market enables compliance to responsible gaming standards and the provision of tax revenue for reinvestment back into the community,” Mr Tengco noted.
He stated: “Pagcor now requires all iGaming B2B suppliers operating in the Philippines to be accredited to ensure they comply to the rigorous requirements needed to protect iGaming players.”
“We are pleased to acknowledge GLI as the first testing and game certification provider to be accredited in the Philippines under this new framework,” the Pagcor chief added.
In prepared remarks, GLI president and CEO James Maida thanked Pagcor “for the trust” it continues to place in GLI.
“The market in the Philippines has improved steadily, and we are honoured to be the first company to be accredited for iGaming testing and certification, and we look forward to working side-by-side with Pagcor to meet their policy objectives,” Mr Maida stated.
