IDX Games’ table-display offering aims to add fun and drive player engagement

Casino technology and content supplier IDX Games is focused on helping casino operators drive player engagement and enhance the “fun” of casino play, with its results-display product, X Trend, as well as via add-on technology offering bonus games or jackpots.

That is according to Peter Johns (pictured), IDX Games’ chief commercial officer (CCO), in comments to GGRAsia.

IDX Games is a supplier of display control systems for gaming tables and electronic table games (ETGs).

Mr Johns noted the interest shown at May’s casino industry trade show Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia 2025 in IDX Games’ product X Table. The company describes it as a “one-package” offering that provides not only X Trend – a display for player-perceived ‘trends’ in game results – but also X Bonus, a module that allows operators to create bonus games and jackpots.

He said of the X Table package and its adaptability for the variety of casino table and ETG game formats: “We do a whole trend board for all games – that includes the PC, the software to run it, and also the display.”

He added: “We’ve built a really robust system, and we’re also collaborating with other game providers and people with other good ideas, and we’re building that into our system.

“So we’re offering third-party games on top of what our normal trend board would be,” Mr Johns explained.

He further noted, referring to X Bonus: “It’s an optional extra.” Casino operators can used it to “run central control jackpots and bonus games”.

“The jackpot system we have is… server-based… from GES,” i.e.,Gaming Entertainment Systems, another casino technology supplier.

Mr Johns added, referring to one of the industry’s gaming equipment testing services: “It’s approved by BMM and we’re licensed” by GES for its server-based setup “to run our jackpot”.

Via its suite of products, IDX Games aims to help casino operators to “monetise” more effectively their utilisation of gaming ‘trend’ boards, and enhance players’ interest and engagement in the casino table game or ETG they opt to play.

Mr Johns remarked, referring to the X Trend display: “We have what we call our ‘Gold Pots’” to “tell you… the last time that the side bets went off,” i.e., produced player wins.

X Trend is also available as a standalone product.

“We also simplify the trend board’s indicators which helps” with the “younger generation, the Gen [Generation] Zs,” stated Mr Johns.

Traditional trend signage could be “a bit boring”, so IDX Games has “made it a little bit more exciting,” he asserted, adding that colours for the graphics on X Trend “can be customised” to suit each venue”.

He stated the product can add “bonus features” via a second display screen, “so we can turn that screen into… [a] bonus game” to complement the trend board.

Mr Johns said: “We literally layer a new game on, which is a faster game: it could be a communal slot machine, or a communal playing card game, and we have… the bonuses, which can be turned on or come across triggered within the standard game.”

Such product setup reflects IDX Games’ philosophy, which the CCO said was to “build a cycle of fun and excitement” for gaming floors.

“We’ve made the graphical stuff [with the trend board]; we put in jackpots, to encourage people to play extra, or get more engaged in the game,” he said.

“Our aim is to engage people more in the game and give them a bit more information about the side bets, and give them opportunities to bet more… Obviously that keeps them playing in the game,” and presents “more chances to win,” the IDX Games CCO remarked.
