U.S.-based gaming supplier International Game Technology (IGT) on Thursday announced an agreement to supply several casino system products to casino resort City of Dreams Manila. IGT will also provide the property with a set of bonusing tools.
The announcement did not mention the value of the deal.
City of Dreams Manila, a venture between Philippine-listed Melco Crown (Philippines) Resorts Corp and local partner Belle Corp, is due to open in the fourth quarter of 2014 in the Philippine capital. Belle is controlled by SM Group, headed by Henry Sy, patriarch of the Philippines’ richest family according to Forbes magazine.
The property will be operated by Melco Crown Philippines, a subsidiary of Macau-based gaming operator Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd.
“We’re also empowering the operator with advanced technologies including Asia’s first installation of EZ Pay Mag Card [a card-based cashless system for use in gaming environments], and the backing of IGT’s Manila office to provide local support,” Mark Michalko, IGT director of sales Asia, said in a prepared statement.
City of Dreams Manila will also use the IGT Tournament Manager product with 52 IGT video poker machines, allowing the property to host video poker tournaments, the gaming supplier said.
