Japan Cash Machine Co Ltd, also known as JCM Global, says it will donate JPY3 million (US$20,910) via the Japanese Red Cross Society’s “2025 Myanmar Earthquake Relief Fund”, to support relief and recovery efforts in the affected areas in that country.
“JCM extends its deepest condolences” to the families of those who lost their live in the earthquake that affected Myanmar and Thailand in late March.
The firm also expressed “its sincere sympathy to all those affected by this disaster”.
JCM, a firm listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, makes machines that validate banknotes and handle currency, and also manufactures printers for casino gaming machines and other gaming hardware-related devices.
“JCM sincerely hopes for the safety of everyone in the affected areas and wishes for the earliest possible recovery,” stated the company in a recent press release.
The official death toll from the earthquake in Myanmar rose to more than 3,500, according to state media.
The 7.7-magnitude earthquake, which struck on March 28, was also felt in neighbouring countries.
