The 27th Annual Golf Classic, supporting research by the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG), is being hosted on May 6 at the SouthShore Country Club in Henderson, Nevada, in the United States.
The “AGEM & AGA Golf Classic Presented by JCM Global” was created specifically to “support the ICRG’s important research into the prevention and treatment of gambling disorder,” noted a written announcement.
ICRG president Michael Soll said in prepared remarks that the efforts from the event’s sponsors “enable ground-breaking research into the effective treatment and prevention of gambling harms and provide the industry and its peers the tools necessary for conducting responsible gambling strategies”.
Last year’s event raised US$180,000, pushing the total raised over the tournament’s history past the US$3.0-million mark, the ICRG said.
The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) and the American Gaming Association (AGA) return as title sponsors this year, and Japan Cash Machine Co Ltd, also known as JCM Global, reprises its role as presenting sponsor, as per the update.
JCM’s senior vice president for sales, marketing and operations, Dave Kubajak, described the event as “one-of-a-kind golf experience” that helps “drive the success of the ICRG”
“For the past 27 years, it has been our honour at JCM Global to organise this philanthropic event that both supports the important work of the ICRG and unites the gaming industry, with competitors standing side by side,” Mr Kubajak added.
