Japan Cash Machine Co Ltd, also known as JCM Global, says it has passed a regulatory review and has been licensed by the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission.

“The license enables JCM to directly sell its industry-leading technology and to support its customers throughout the [U.S.] state,” said JCM in a Tuesday press release.

JCM, a firm listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, makes machines that validate banknotes and handle currency, and also manufactures printers for casino gaming machines and other gaming hardware-related devices.

In Tuesday’s announcement, JCM said it now holds 178 licences across the United States. The firm announced recently that it had secured licences in Colorado, New Mexico, and West Virginia.

The release cited Dave Kubajak, JCM’s senior vice president for sales, marketing and operations, as saying: “We made the decision to pursue licences in Nebraska and other jurisdictions to better serve our customers.”

He added: “These licences allow us to expand our product offerings into the market and to directly support our customers without the need for third parties.”

Earlier this month, JCM reported a net profit of just below JPY4.10 billion (US$26.9 million) for the nine months to December 31, on net sales that rose 36.1 percent year-on-year, to nearly JPY30.33 billion.
