Kangwon Land Inc, the operator of the only casino in South Korea open to locals, is to be a first-time exhibitor at casino industry trade show and conference Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 2018 edition of the three-day annual event, presented by the American Gaming Association, takes place at Sands Expo at the Venetian Las Vegas, in the United States, and ends on Thursday.

Also exhibiting on the trade show side for the first time this year – according to the event’s website – are two Asia-based makers of thermal printers. They are South Korea’s Hwasung System Co Ltd, established in 2002; and China’s Xiamen Cashino Technology Co Ltd.

Tracks on day one of the conference sessions for G2E 2018 include Global Gaming Women – a initiative to promote the participation of female professionals in the casino sector – with topics such as “Leadership traits of C-suites executives” and “How a diverse workforce reinvigorates your team”. There is also a track that day from the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA) Best Practices Institute, on “Cryptocurrency: its potential gaming benefits and regulatory challenges”.

Tuesday’s conference programme includes two new tracks for 2018, including sessions topical for managers in the Macau casino market. The tracks are: Optimising Gaming Operations, featuring among other subjects, “Attracting and retaining staff at all levels”; and Integrated Resort Development and Management, with topics including “Retail, dining and entertainment: determining the right mix to maximise return on investment”.
