A new product for the high-profile ‘smart table’ segment has come via collaboration between Macau-based casino equipment supplier LT Game Ltd, and South Korean gaming equipment specialist Brain Group & Technology (BG&T).
The smart table product is yet to be given an identifying name. It uses radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, is configured for baccarat (pictured) and is potentially ready for use in live casino operations, said Eddie Au, LT Game’s chief operating officer, in response to enquiries from GGRAsia. A recent BG&T social media posting mentioned the new product.
Mr Au said BG&T had the “core” function of supplying RFID technology for the smart table. LT Game’s role was to handle its integration with casinos’ overall table-operations management systems. LT Game also dealt with the design of the new table’s layouts, including that for side betting boxes for baccarat play, he added.
There has been extensive reporting since last year, about the land-based casino industry in Macau and elsewhere adopting smart tables for game security and operational efficiency. Such products are said to be able to boost operations via capabilities such as collection of detailed data on player behaviour.
LT Game’s collaboration with BG&T, which has been supplying gaming technology – including casino management systems (CMS) – to the South Korean domestic market, will help meet the rising demand in Asia for smart tables, suggested Mr Au.
The LT Game executive stated his company intends to prioritise marketing of the table in Southeast Asia gaming markets, with a focus on the Philippines. BG&T’s domestic market of South Korea is also being targeted, said Mr Au.
