Renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli (pictured) is to perform at the Cotai show venue Galaxy Arena on March 29. The concert “will feature a unique setlist, offering fans in Macau, Hong Kong, and throughout Asia-Pacific a rare opportunity to experience this exceptional artist live”, said the venue operator, Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd, in a press release.
The 66-year-old tenor – known for his crossover style of blending Italian folk, opera and pop music – has over 90 million albums sold worldwide and more than 16 billion streams, making him the biggest-selling artist in the classical genre, according to the release.
Over his 30-year career, Mr Bocelli achieved significant international success, including collaborations with global stars.
Galaxy Arena, a 16,000-seat multipurpose venue, is situated inside Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC). GICC and its adjacent Andaz Macau hotel are part of Galaxy Macau’s Phase 3, promoted by Galaxy Entertainment.
The venue hosted another renowned tenor, Plácido Domingo, in an October opera gala.
The casino firm said Galaxy Macau is hosting a “series of exciting entertainment announcements” this year, “aimed at elevating the quality and diversity of performances”.
