Melco Resorts paying one-month bonus to Macau, Hong Kong staff

Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd said on Thursday that it would be paying a “one-month discretionary bonus” to “all eligible, non-management” employees in Macau and Hong Kong. The award is to be paid “by the end of January”, in appreciation of their work in 2025, according to a written announcement.

The company’s release did not mention what percentage of its workforce would be entitled to the special payment.

The update quoted Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, Melco Resorts’ chairman and chief executive, as saying: “The discretionary bonus payment acknowledges our colleagues’ dedication and support throughout the past year.”

He added: “We sincerely appreciate their loyalty and commitment in consistently exceeding guest expectations, which together help the company maintain and excel its leadership position within the entertainment and hospitality industry.”

In Macau, Melco Resorts runs its flagship casino resort City of Dreams (pictured) and the Studio City complex on Cotai; and the Altira casino hotel in Taipa. The company has also been authorised by the Macau government to keep running three existing Mocha Clubs-branded slot parlours via a contracted management company.

All six Macau gaming concessionaires had announced staff salary increments for 2025. They had also announced last year some form of special payment to staff for work done in 2024.
