Macau casino concessionaire MGM China Holdings Ltd says the second edition of the “MGM x CityU Responsible Gaming Promotional Project” has concluded “successfully”.
The gaming firm said it partnered with the City University of Macau (CityU) to launch the programme, featuring two key components. They were the “Responsible Gaming Campus Ambassador Programme”, which focused on talent development and hands-on engagement; and the “Healthy Financial Management Promotional Design Competition”, designed to spark creativity and innovative communication, stated the company.
This year’s ambassador programme engaged “over 30 students from majors such as tourism management, hospitality, and social work,” noted the firm.
Led by Tina Wong, director of responsible gaming at MGM China, and Pak Kin Pong, director of the Integrated Services Center of the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home, “the curriculum explored the evolution of Macau’s gaming industry and the vital role of responsible gaming in the city’s sustainable development,” stated MGM China.
The company said “new modules on gaming misconceptions and gambling disorder prevention” were introduced in this year’s programme, “to strengthen students’ knowledge”.
The inaugural “Healthy Financial Management Promotion Design Competition” invited submissions from across CityU, encouraging participants to use diverse formats – such as digital media, community education, and cultural and creative products – “to promote financial wellness and responsible gaming”.
“All entries were showcased online, generating over 110,000 views, underscoring the strong resonance these concepts have within the campus,” said the casino concessionaire.
Ip Kuai Peng, CityU’s vice rector, said the initiatives had “successfully inspired” students’ creativity and strengthened their sense of social responsibility.
MGM China’s Ms Wong said the second edition of the “MGM x CityU Responsible Gaming Promotional Project” had empowered students “to creatively adopt healthy financial concepts across campuses and communities”.
