Macau casino firm Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd (GEG) says “rich and diverse activities and training opportunities” have been provided to “nearly 3,500 participants aged between 18 and 29” since the inception of the GEG Youth Achievement Programme (YAP) in 2011.

The programme, jointly organised with the Macau Management Association (MMA), aims to promote “the holistic development of local youths through diverse initiatives,” stated the company in a press release. YAP is said to be based on three core themes: “self-awareness”, “community care”, and “career development”.

In November, the organisers held the 13th YAP Award Presentation and the 14th YAP Launching Ceremony at the Galaxy International Convention Center.

The announcement cited Philip Cheng, director at GEG, as saying: “Over the years, GEG has joined hands with MMA to promote YAP, helping local talents fully unleash their potential and give full play to their strengths.”

He added: “In addition to cooperating with MMA to develop the curriculum each year, GEG makes good use of our resources to actively encourage YAP students to participate in large-scale events and activities organised and supported by GEG, broadening their horizons and experiences of the unique charms of Macau.”

Alex Mok, council vice chairman of MMA, said in prepared remarks that the focus of the programme is on “the physical and mental well-being of Macau’s young generation,” aiming to help “young people explore their potential and contribute to society”.

During the ceremony, GEG and MMA representatives presented various awards to outstanding participants.

According to the organisers, the next edition of YAP will launch a series of activities such as workshops and seminars under the theme of “Creating Value Through Technology”, along with visits to technology innovation cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
