A revamped retail area at Singapore’s casino resort complex Resorts World Sentosa, dubbed “WEAVE” (pictured in artist rendering), will debut “in the second half of 2025”, according to the property’s promoter in a Tuesday press release.
WEAVE, described as a “lifestyle destination”, was formerly known as The Forum, the complex’s retail area. The announcement said the shops and dining outlets at WEAVE, a complex designed by architectural firm Benoy, will launch “progressively” from the mid of this year.
The new destination WEAVE, which spans over 20,000 square metres and is “twice the size” of the former Forum, is to house “over 40 lifestyle and premium brands” across three levels, including a number of “Asia-exclusive flagship stores” and “new-to Singapore culinary concepts”, the release noted.
The culinary brands that WEAVE will house include the patisserie boutique, Maison Pierre Hermé Paris; Middle Eastern street food brand WeWa; dining concepts by Michelin-starred chef Paul Pairet; mainland China’s Peking duck brand, Peking Chamber; Korean bakery Standard Bread; Singapore’s restaurant Chatterbox; and brewed tea chain CHAGEE, according to the release.
“WEAVE marks a significant milestone in our RWS 2.0 transformation as we redefine premium and lifestyle experiences in one seamless environment,” said Resorts World Sentosa’s chief executive officer, Tan Hee Teck, in prepared remarks included in Tuesday’s release.
He added: “More than a retail space, WEAVE is a dynamic social hub connecting guests across the resort and attractions to create an immersive journey from day to night.”
Genting Singapore Ltd, promoter and operator of Resorts World Sentosa, has pledged to invest SGD6.80 billion (US$5.05 billion) to upgrade and expand the complex, via a project known as RWS 2.0. Resorts World Sentosa is one of Singapore’s two casino resorts.
The casino firm has pledged “seamless operations” while launching in phases its RWS 2.0 expansion throughout 2025.
The group opened on February 14 the Universal Studios Singapore new themed zone, “Illumination’s Minion Land”.
In the third quarter of 2025, Genting Singapore plans to open a “super luxury all-suite hotel” – replacing the Hard Rock Hotel, which closed in March last year – and the Singapore Oceanarium, according to corporate information.
In mid-November the company broke ground for a new waterfront development at the complex. The firm expects that expansion to be completed in 2030.
