Atlantis The Royal Dubai, a luxury beach resort and hotel in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has appointed Olivier Bonard (pictured) as general manager and senior vice president (SVP). That is according to a Monday post in social media network LinkedIn.

Mr Bonard was most recently SVP of hotel operations at the Wynn Palace casino resort, a property in Macau’s Cotai district run by Wynn Macau Ltd.

Prior to that he was vice president of food and beverage at Wynn Macau, the group’s property in downtown Macau. Originally from Switzerland, Mr Bonard had been with the Wynn group in Macau since 2012.

“With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Olivier brings a wealth of expertise in managing and opening hotels and restaurants for global brands like Hyatt International, Wynn Resorts, and more,” said Atlantis The Royal.

“He will now oversee the renowned Atlantis The Royal, guiding operations and helping us achieve our goals as we continue to create unforgettable experiences for our guests,” it added.

The Hotelier Middle East, a trade publication for the hotel and hospitality industry, cited Mr Bonard as saying he was “honoured “to join Atlantis The Royal.

“Like Dubai, a city of limitless ambition and constant evolution, Atlantis The Royal thrives on innovation and the relentless pursuit of excellence. This vision resonates deeply with me, I believe there is no finish line, only new beginnings,” he stated.

Atlantis The Royal, with nearly 800 rooms and suites, became available to the public in February 2023.

The first casino resort in the UAE – being developed by Wynn Macau Ltd’s parent, Wynn Resorts Ltd – is due to open in 2027, in Ras Al Khaimah, another of the emirates in the UAE federation.
