State-run gaming regulator and operator the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor) reported net income of PHP10.79 billion (US$ 187.5 million) for the first six months of 2025, up 64.3 percent from the prior-year period, according to a Wednesday press release.
Total revenue in the six months to June 30 rose by 14.1 percent year-on-year to PHP59.06 billion.
The agency said its results were helped by the country’s record PHP214.75 billion in gross gaming revenue in the first half of 2025.
Pagcor stated that the bulk of its first-half revenues were from gaming operations, which contributed approximately PHP53.40 billion, a year-on-year increase of 17.7 percent.
Pagcor’s operating expenses stood at PHP12.83 billion in the opening half of 2025, down 17.9 percent from a year earlier.
Alejandro Tengco, chairman and chief executive of Pagcor, said in Wednesday’s announcement: “We remain focused on continuously strengthening our regulatory framework to ensure that revenues from regulated gaming will continue to benefit the public good.”
Pagcor’s total contributions to nation-building in the first six months of 2025 reached PHP38.1 billion, up around 20 percent from a year earlier, it said.
The regulator had reported revenue of PHP111.71 billion for full-year 2024, up 40.7 percent year-on-year.
