February casino sales at Paradise Co Ltd fell month-on-month and year-on-year, the company said in a Wednesday filing to the Korea Exchange.
The company is an operator in South Korea of foreigner-only casinos, including a venture at Paradise City in Incheon, done jointly with Japanese entertainment conglomerate Sega Sammy Holdings Inc.
Paradise also runs gaming at Walkerhill, Seoul, as well as at a venue on the semi-autonomous holiday island of Jeju, and in the southern port city of Busan (pictured).
The group’s February casino sales were just under KRW70.22 billion (US$48.5 million), a reduction of 2.1 percent on January’s and down 11.5 percent year-on-year.
Table-game sales were KRW65.95 billion in the latest reporting period, down 1.7 percent sequentially and 11.9-percent lower year-on-year.
Machine-game sales stood at KRW4.26 billion, a decline of 8.4 percent from January this year, and narrowed by 5.7 percent from February 2024.
Accumulated casino sales for the first two months were nearly KRW141.97 billion, down 6.3 percent from the prior-year period.
