Online entertainment gaming platform PlayTime has announced the launch of a PHP100-million (US$1.8-million) Responsible Gaming Fund, which it says will help create an ethical framework for the country’s gaming industry.
The initiative was “designed not exclusively for the brand, but to assist every player across all gaming platforms and uplift the entire gaming industry” regarding its responsible gaming efforts, stated PlayTime in a recent press release.
“The Responsible Gaming Fund is not about brand positioning; it’s about revolutionary industry transformation,” said Krizia Cortez, PlayTime’s director of public relations, as cited in the announcement.
She added: “We are extending our hand to every platform, every player, every partner who believes that responsible gaming is not just good practice, but a moral imperative. This is a shared challenge, and it demands a shared solution.”
PlayTime said the initiative aims to encourage a “broader national dialogue,” bringing “players, families, professionals, and institutions into the conversation”.
“It should not be limited to platforms but to everyone who interacts with, benefits from, or is impacted by gaming in today’s hyper-connected world,” stated the brand.
As part of the initiative, PlayTime also called on people to share their stories related to responsible gaming, via a “#LarongWais stories” platform.
“These may include moments of challenge, breakthrough, or boundary-setting that reflect what it means to play with intention, balance, and self-awareness,” said the company.
According to the update, authors of selected submissions will be chosen to become Responsible Gaming Ambassadors, “helping to bring the campaign to life across communities, sectors, and generations”.
Launched in January 2024, PlayTime is a platform licensed by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor), the country’s gaming regulator.
The brand says its social responsibility arm – PlayTime CARES – is focused on supporting children, grassroots sports, and “addressing urgent community needs”.
