The Resorts World Genting casino property (pictured in a file photo) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tourism Malaysia, the country’s tourism promotion board, to support the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

That is according to a Thursday announcement carried by Bernama, an official news agency.

The Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign was announced in January this year. According to Tourism Malaysia’s website, it has set the country “an ambitious goal to welcome 35.6 million tourists and generate MYR147.1 billion [US$35.5 billion] in tourism receipts”.

Resorts World Genting’s support will see Malaysia’s only casino complex, run by Genting Malaysia Bhd, offering a “new concept of ecotourism and edutourism”.

That will include promotion of the gaming resort’s facility Eufloria, described on its website as “Malaysia’s premier floral theme park”.

As per Thursday’s statement, Eufloria spans 12.5 acres (5.1 hectares) and “integrates horticulture, artistry and conservation-driven storytelling, offering an accessible nature-learning experience for local and international visitors”.

Its centrepiece is said to be a 3.7-acre greenhouse complex, described as Malaysia’s largest, featuring four thematic glasshouses. The floral park can reportedly cater for up to 8,000 visitors at one time with more than 1,000 plant species showcased on seasonal rotation.

The other element of Resorts World Genting’s ecotourism offer is “BUNGA 2026”. It is described as a new floral festival highlighting Malaysia’s biodiversity and creative artistry, and is due to open “in the first half of next year”, according to Bernama.

Tiong King Sing, Malaysia’s Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister, who attended a ceremony for the MoU announcement, was cited as saying it would help domestic as well as overseas tourism.

“We are giving local tourists more reasons to stay in the country as they can come and feel our horticultural beauty, it is not necessary to go to Singapore or Taiwan, far away to feel this flower extravaganza,” he stated.

Spencer Lee, sales, marketing and public relations executive vice president at Resorts World Genting, described the MoU as an important milestone to support Visit Malaysia 2026.

He was cited saying: “Through initiatives like Eufloria and BUNGA 2026, we hope to inspire sustainable travel and accessible learning experiences for all.”

Mr Lee added: “We are excited to showcase our ecotourism and edutourism offerings, providing enriching experiences for visitors from near and far while celebrating Malaysia’s natural and cultural heritage.”
