Three operators of foreigner-only casinos in South Korea have reported year-on-year increases in gaming revenue in September, according to separate filings to the Korea Exchange.
Lotte Tour Development Co Ltd, promoter of the Jeju Dream Tower, said its casino sales rose 86.3 percent year-on-year in September, to nearly KRW52.95 billion (US$37.7 million). Last month’s tally was up 23.2 percent from August, according to a Wednesday announcement.
Last month’s table game sales at the property were KRW51.11 billion, a 88.2-percent increase on the prior-year period, and was up 24.2 percent sequentially.
Machine-game sales rose 44.7 percent year-on-year in September, to KRW1.83 billion. Relative to August, such sales were flat.
Lotte Tour reported casino sales of KRW333.93 billion for the first nine months of 2025, 51.3-percent higher than a year ago.
In a Thursday filing, Paradise Co Ltd said its casino sales in September rose 4.3 percent from a year earlier, to KRW64.03 billion. Measured sequentially, the September tally fell by 20.4 percent.
September was the fifth consecutive month in which Paradise Co reported year-on-year increases in casino sales. The company operates foreigner-only casinos in South Korea, including a venture at Paradise City in Incheon, jointly run with Japanese entertainment conglomerate Sega Sammy Holdings Inc.
Paradise Co also operates gaming facilities at Walkerhill in Seoul, in the southern port city of Busan, and on the semi-autonomous holiday island of Jeju.
The firm’s table-game sales in September were KRW59.01 billion, up 3.4 percent from a year earlier, but down 22.4 percent sequentially.
Machine-game sales last month grew by 16.5 percent year-on-year to KRW5.01 billion. That tally was up 12.8 percent from August.
In the nine months to September 30, Paradise Co’s casino sales reached KRW673.70 billion, 9.5-percent higher than in the prior-year period.
Paradise Co said last month that one of its units would pay KRW210.0 billion to acquire the West Wing of the Grand Hyatt Incheon hotel, a property near Seoul.
Another operator of foreigner-only casinos in the country, Grand Korea Leisure Co Ltd, reported casino sales of KRW34.78 billion in September, up 1.4 percent year-on-year. Judged sequentially, the tally was down 0.8 percent.
Table-game sales last month were just under KRW31.36 billion, down 0.8 percent year-on-year, but a 0.6-percent increase sequentially.
Machine-game sales in September were KRW3.42 billion, an increase of 26.0 percent from a year ago, but down 12.4 percent from August.
Grand Korea Leisure runs three foreigner-only, Seven Luck-branded, casinos. Two are in the capital Seoul, including one at Gangnam. Its third is in the southeastern port city of Busan.
The company is a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, which in turn is affiliated to the country’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
In the first nine months of 2025, the casino firm recorded casino sales of KRW318.71 billion, up 10.9 percent from the prior-year period.
