Macau casino operator Sands China Ltd is offering a chance to baccarat players of winning a special two-tier bonus for wagers on the side bet combinations of ‘Lucky 6’ and ‘Lucky 7’. It is featured at certain live-dealer tables across the company’s Cotai properties.
The bonus feature – which the company says is the only one to offer in the Macau market – has been implemented within this month, GGRAsia understands from Thursday and Friday site checks.
Players who bet a designated amount of HKD500 (US$64) on the baccarat side bet combinations of either Small 6/Big 6 or Lucky 7 and Super Lucky 7 – described collectively by Sands China as “Lucky Wagers” – are eligible for the two-tiered “Sands Baccarat Bonus”.
The offer is available at the high limit areas of The Venetian Macao casino (pictured), The Plaza casino, and The Parisian Macao casino, as well as at The Londoner Macao casino and the Londoner Grand Macao casino. That is according to GGRAsia’s review of the operator’s promotional materials and site checks.
The Sands Baccarat Bonus is also available for “Lucky Wagers” bettors that lay a HKD2,000 designated bet at specific pit zones within, respectively, The Venetian Macao casino, The Plaza Macao casino and at all of the operator’s premium-play club zones branded APEX.
The Sands Baccarat Bonus tables currently promoted at Sands China’s Cotai properties, have table felt, signboards, and play rule brochures printed with motifs of dragon heads and tiger heads.
The Sands Baccarat Bonus tiers are first, “Grand Bonus”. This is only triggered when the player’s hand wins on a total of seven points over six points with a total of six cards, and that the player hand is formed solely by cards in the ‘diamonds’ suit while the banker hand is formed solely by ‘spades’.
The second tier is the “Major Bonus”, which is triggered when the player’s hand wins on a total value of seven points over six points, with five or six cards, and that the player’s hand is formed solely by cards of the same red suit – either ‘hearts’ or ‘diamonds’ – while the banker’s hand is formed solely by cards of the same black suit – either ‘spades’ or ‘clubs’.
In a scenario where two or more winning players qualify for the Sands Baccarat Bonus, the prize will be shared proportionally and automatically based on the total betting amount of each winner’s qualified “Lucky Wagers”.
Sands China’s implementation of the special bonus for the baccarat side bet players is against the backdrop of all operators in Macau having introduced baccarat side-bet combinations since last year, amid simultaneous rollouts of ‘smart tables’ across their Cotai and Macau peninsula properties.
Currently, all major casino properties in the city have been observed to have smart tables in operation. Grand Lisboa Palace – a Cotai casino resort run by SJM Holdings Ltd – has added such tables on its mass floor, GGRAsia observed from a Thursday floor check.
The city’s six casino operators had since last year adopted the baccarat side bet Small 6/Big 6 – a variant of the Lucky Six side bet – a move coinciding with 2024 May Golden Week, a holiday period on the Chinese mainland and peak season for Macau tourism. Subsequently, Macau operators were observed as introducing the baccarat side bet options Lucky 7 and Super Lucky 7, in time for 2024’s October Golden Week, another important mainland holiday.
