SJM Resorts Ltd, the Macau operations unit of Hong Kong-listed casino firm SJM Holdings Ltd, hosted a tennis “interaction camp” during the “2024 CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships”.
The event, in November, featured Li Na (pictured), internationally-renowned tennis player and Global Ambassador of the Special Olympics, alongside Wu Chun, CTA Finals Ambassador.
The duo led the “Tennis for All: MSO Interaction Camp” for members of the Macau Special Olympics (MSO) association, “effectively bringing the sport to all sectors of society and promoting the message of social inclusion,” said the casino firm in a press release.
During the event, Ms Li and Mr Wu respectively shared details of their career journey in tennis and of their personal development.
SJM said the camp aimed to “create opportunities for individuals from different backgrounds to engage in a diverse range of athletic pursuits”.
The initiative “promoted the spirit of ‘Sports for All’ and contributed to the development of a more inclusive society”.
The event was held at the Macau Tennis Academy, and attended by Windy Lou, acting head of Macau’s Sports Bureau.
