SJM Resorts Ltd, the Macau casino operating unit of Hong Kong-listed SJM Holdings Ltd, hosted in early February a graduation ceremony for its “SJM Talent Development Programme”, at the group’s Grand Lisboa Palace complex on Cotai.

“The ceremony celebrated the successful career transitions of participating employees, showcasing SJM’s significant achievements in supporting economic diversification and local talent development,” the casino firm said in a written announcement.

Angela Leong, a director of SJM Resorts and chairman of the Staff Welfare Consultative Committee, said in prepared remarks that the company continues to invest in talent development, in alignment with the Macau government’s initiatives to promote economic diversification.

She said SJM Resorts is committed to enhance the group’s training framework “to offer employees broader development opportunities”.

The update said the SJM group had launched a series of innovative training programmes over the past year, with the support of Macau’s Labour Affairs Bureau.

The programmes provided “diversified learning platforms for local participants from frontline positions to management levels,” the firm added.

“In 2025, more than 17,000 employees had successfully completed professional courses,” SJM Resorts stated.

The company also said that it independently offers training programmes such as the “SJM Career New Start – Career Development Programme” and the “SJM Management Trainee Programme”.

“Through these initiatives, many employees have successfully transferred from gaming-related positions to non-gaming departments,” the casino firm noted.

SJM Resorts additionally said that it establishes partnerships with local higher education institutions, to promote an industry-academia integration approach to facilitate students’ smooth transition into the workplace.

“The company will continue to strengthen cooperation with government departments and educational institutions, further enhancing training content and career growth avenues,” the firm stated.
