Synectics Plc, a United Kingdom-based provider of security and surveillance technology, says it has secured a five-year contract extension with a major casino operator in Asia.
In a Wednesday press release, Synectics said the contract extension is “worth at least US$4.8 million”.
Synectics did not name the customer, but said it is “one of the world’s most successful and high-profile gaming resorts”.
Under the terms of the contract, Synectics stated it would “continue to provide the customer, a long-standing major casino operator in Southeast Asia,” the firm’s “proprietary Synergy software platform”.
The announcement quoted Amanda Larnder, Synectics’ chief executive and chief financial officer, as saying: “We look forward to continuing this successful collaboration as we deliver mission-critical software support, reinforcing our position as a trusted long-term technology partner to one of the world’s leading casino operators.”
The release said the contract reflected “the customer’s ongoing confidence” in Synectics’ platform, “underpinned by Synergy’s scalability and flexibility to grow with the resort’s development, its proven ability to adapt and expand functionality in response to evolving requirements, and the consistently high standard of onsite support delivered by Synectics”.
According to the firm’s website, for gaming sector clients globally, Synectics oversees “150,000 channels monitored and recorded in casino properties worldwide”.
The company operates in a number of jurisdictions in Asia, having provided services to casino operators in Macau, Singapore and the Philippines, as well as to other gaming-related regional clients.
In early May, Synectics said it would launch later this year a new tool for its video-surveillance platform, enabling advanced forensics in relation to video analytics functions, including free-text search.
