The board of Philippine-listed DigiPlus Interactive Corp has announced a dividend of PHP0.86 (US$0.015) per outstanding common share. The dividend – declared out of unappropriated retained earnings of the company as of December 31 – is to be paid on April 4, stated the firm in a Friday filing.
DigiPlus Interactive is a Philippine holding company with investment in gaming and leisure businesses, including bingo services and a digital sportsbook platform.
In 2022 the firm launched an online bingo service, BingoPlus; and, in February 2023, the company introduced ArenaPlus, a new brand for its sports betting operations.
DigiPlus posted net income of PHP12.6 billion for full-year 2024, up circa 207 percent year-on-year. The company said the result was “driven by the sustained momentum of its retail gaming segment, the successful launch of new livestreamed games, and the continued expansion of its game portfolio”.
“Additionally, the harmonisation of regulatory fees further enhanced profitability, creating a more stable environment for long-term growth,” it stated.
Total revenues in 2024 rose by 176 percent year-on-year, to PHP75.2 billion, while earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 192 percent to PHP13.9 billion.
DigiPlus said the increase in revenue reflected “the company’s ability to scale efficiently and optimise its expanding user base”.
In January the group said that last year it doubled its registered-user tally, to more than 40 million.
Friday’s announcement cited DigiPlus chairman, Eusebio Tanco, emphasising the company’s contributions beyond business growth.
“Beyond our business, we take our role in nation-building seriously, with PHP33.7 billion paid in taxes and regulatory fees in 2024 alone,” stated Mr Tanco.
He added: “Our success directly translates into meaningful contributions to national development – funding essential public services and infrastructure that benefit millions of Filipinos.”
DigiPlus Interactive was among the companies awarded a sports betting and online gaming licence in Brazil.
Last month, the company said that up to PHP3 billion was earmarked this year for the group’s existing Philippines business and short-term support for its Brazil venture.
The company also announced last month plans to establish a new company in Singapore, called DigiPlus Global Pte Ltd. The new Singapore company “will serve as a support function centre and regional hub, dedicated to strategic partnerships, talent acquisition, and international growth,” said DigiPlus Interactive.
