Veteran casino executive Greg Hawkins has been appointed a director, president and chief operating officer (COO) of Philippine gaming complex operator Bloomberry Resorts Corp, with effect from Sunday, the firm said in a Friday filing to the Philippine Stock Exchange.
In February he had been named in an acting capacity as group COO, having previously been acting COO of Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels Inc, the group’s operating unit.
Bloomberry Resorts built and runs Solaire Resort & Casino in the Philippine capital Manila, and Solaire Resort North, another gaming complex, in Quezon City, northeast of Manila.
Mr Hawkins (pictured) had previously headed Solaire Resort North, and was made acting COO of Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels Inc in December, coincidental with the retirement of Tom Arasi as president and COO of the Bloomberry Resorts Corp parent.
According to Friday’s filing, Mr Hawkins indirectly holds 102,000 shares in Bloomberry Resorts Corp.
Earlier this month, it emerged that Damian Quayle, a former colleague of Mr Hawkins from the Macau and Australia gaming markets, is to become president at Solaire Resort North, with effect from July 1.
Mr Quayle will on June 20 leave his current post as chief gaming officer at SJM Resorts Ltd, the SJM Holdings Ltd entity possessing a current Macau gaming concession. He has held that role since the autumn of last year.
