TransAct Technologies Inc, a United States-based supplier of technology to the gaming industry and other sectors, says a casino resort in Macau has selected its food inventory monitoring and food safety tracking system known as BOHA!.
The company issued on Monday a written statement saying the deal would be the first in the Asia-Pacific region. It didn’t identify the venue concerned.
The order is for what is known as the BOHA! “labelling software as a service” application and the TransAct Enterprise Management System, together with 100 BOHA! terminals, for use in all of the kitchens in the casino resort.
The BOHA! system is said to combine applications for inventory management, temperature monitoring of food and equipment, timers, food-safety labelling, food recalls, checklists and procedures, equipment service management and delivery management.
TransAct expects installation of the system to be finished within the next four months.
The statement quoted TransAct chairman and chief executive Bart Shuldman as saying: “This agreement to deploy BOHA! in all kitchens at a leading Macau casino resort speaks very highly to the flexibility and advantages offered by our industry-unique solution.”
In commentary accompanying TransAct’s first-quarter results issued in May, Mr Shuldman had said the group was “devoting resources” to the development of the BOHA! system.
TransAct reported a net profit of nearly US$750,000 in the first quarter of 2019, 9.7 percent more than a year earlier, on first-quarter net sales that shrank by 5.7 percent to US$11.6 million as net sales to the gaming industry contracted.
