Philippine-listed licensed online gaming operator DigiPlus Interactive Corp reported first-half net income up 60.9 percent year-on-year, at PHP8.40 billion (US$147.5 million) from PHP5.23 billion. Total revenues for the six months to June 30 rose 46.7 percent to nearly PHP47.78 billion, according to a Thursday filing.
The firm said that was supported by “increased business activity and the rollout of new games and licences” approved by the nation’s gaming regulator, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor).
Most of DigiPlus’ first-half revenue, i.e., PHP47.19 billion, was from retail games.
In the Philippines, the firm is licensed to offer the digital entertainment platforms BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone. Last month the company said it was “on track” to launch in September, online gaming services in Brazil. The brand said last month it aims to expand into South Africa.
DigiPlus stated that its first-half earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) reached PHP9.09 billion, up 64.9 percent from a year ago.
The company said: “For the second quarter alone, net income was PHP4.20 billion, representing a 30 percent year-on- year increase.”
It added that second-quarter revenues reached PHP24.71 billion, up circa 31 percent, while EBITDA rose circa 32 percent to about PHP4.50 billion.
“These figures were driven by new game offerings across DigiPlus’ platforms,” added the firm.
The company said that in the first half of 2025, DigiPlus remitted PHP18.4 billion in “government taxes and regulatory fees”.
The announcement was filed with the Philippine Stock Exchange on Thursday, the same day that a Philippine Senate committee started discussing four separately-sponsored bills either to ban or curb licensed domestic online gambling.
A number of online gambling operators in the Philippines recently agreed to set up “PlaySafe Alliance of the Philippines” to ensure high standards in the industry.
In its Thursday filing, DigiPlus said, referring to its role in that organisation: “Now in the second half of the year, as the Philippine online gambling industry undergoes heightened scrutiny and legislative review, DigiPlus assumes a wider industry role in leading the fight against illegal gambling and championing a safer and more sustainable online gambling industry for the Filipino nation.”
In comments published on Wednesday in the Philippine Star, Eusebio Tanco, DigiPlus’ chairman, reiterated previous remarks that ensuring robust regulation was the answer to any lawmaker concerns, not a ban.
Mr Tanco said: “Strong and fair regulation is the foundation of a safe, sustainable gaming industry. It safeguards players, preserves livelihoods and ensures the closure of illegal, unregulated platforms that operate without accountability.”
The DigiPlus boss was also cited saying he hoped “everybody sees the light” in relation to the issue, so that a ban could be avoided.
“It’s so hard to tell given the present market situation, but we’re very positive,” he added.
