Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd is to give eligible non-management staff in Macau and Hong Kong a pay increase ranging from “2 percent to 6.3 percent”, with effect from April 1. That is according to a Tuesday announcement from the casino operator.
Eligible full-time non-management employees earning a monthly base salary, including guaranteed tips, of up to MOP16,000 (US$1,991) will receive a pay increase of MOP500 per month, representing an increase of 3.1 percent to 6.3 percent, stated the firm.
Non-management employees eligible for the award that earn a monthly base salary, including guaranteed tips, of more than MOP16,000 per month will receive “an increment of 2 percent”.
Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, the group’s chairman and chief executive, was cited as saying in the statement: “Our team is fundamental to the service we provide at Melco. We are pleased to implement this pay increase to recognise their commitment, dedication and hard work.”
He added: “As we look ahead to the opportunities in the coming year, we are committed to moving forward as a united and stable workforce.”
Melco Resorts is the fourth of Macau’s six casino operators to make a public announcement of a pay rise taking effect this year, following statements by Wynn Macau Ltd, and from Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd and from Sands China Ltd.
All six operators have also declared payment of some form of bonus for work in 2025.
