A company named Momentum Group is behind the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE’s) freshly-launched online betting and casino platform called ‘TrueWin’, according to a report last week by Arabian Gulf Business Insight, citing official records.
The UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) did not as of Monday carry a news release on that topic, as per GGRAsia’s check.
The TrueWin website is replacing an existing platform called ‘Dream Island’, which is set to “permanently close” on December 10, as per a notice on its homepage. The notice redirects users to the TrueWin platform.
The TrueWin platform offers a variety of casino table games – including live dealer games, poker, and roulette – and slots, as well as sports betting events.
The first entity to be awarded a lottery licence in the UAE was The Game LLC, in July 2024. The website of The Game LLC, states it is a “Momentum Group company” and gives an address in Abu Dhabi as its base.
The launch of the new betting site comes at a time when the UAE is expected by the investment community to move toward a regulated gambling framework.
Wynn Al Marjan Island, the UAE’s first land-based casino resort in Ras Al Khaimah, is nearing full height and the topping out stage, ahead of a “spring 2027 opening”, according to a recent announcement by one of its promoters, United States-based Wynn Resorts Ltd.
The casino group is parent of Macau casino operator Wynn Macau Ltd.
