Gaming testing specialist and technical consultancy Gaming Laboratories International LLC has appointed Tom Chan as business development manager for the company’s Macau unit, GLI Asia Ltd.

The announcement was made on Wednesday.

Most recently, Mr Chan served as product marketing manager for Lenovo Group Ltd, building the computer manufacturer’s business in the  premium brand notebooks and tablets segments. Prior to that, he worked for semiconductor chip manufacturer Intel Inc and telecommunications multinational Motorola Inc, among other technology firms.

“We continue to grow extensively throughout the Australasia region, and as technology continues to advance and become more complex, our staff and our clients will be well served by having a development representative as knowledgeable as Tom on the GLI team,” said GLI Australia Pty Ltd chief operating officer Espee de Robillard.

U.S.-based GLI last month appointed Amanda Chan as its new general office manager for GLI Asia.

The group opened its first Asian gaming testing facility in Macau in 2006. It expanded it to a full-service testing laboratory in 2009. GLI also has an office in the Philippines.

The company is looking to open more offices in Asia over the next five years, president and chief executive James Maida told GGRAsia in an interview last month.
