The AGEM Index slipped 4.27 percent month-on-month in November, with the composite index falling 13.76 points from October to 308.14 at the end of last month. The index, which tracks stock prices of listed firms in the casino equipment supply sector, lost some value in November after gaining 15.04 points in October.

Compared to a year ago, the composite index posted a gain of 58.6 percent in November, increasing 113.81 points. It was the 14th consecutive month of growth, according to the index data.

The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) produces the monthly AGEM Index, in association with research firm Applied Analysis LLC.

In November, eight of the 13 global gaming equipment manufacturers tracked by the index reported month-to-month increases in stock price, with three up by more than 10 percent. Five manufacturers reported decreases in stock price during the month, with three reporting double-digit drops.

Payments technology specialist Crane Co reported a share price increase of 8.06 percent, while gaming machine and lottery services group Scientific Games Corp posted an 18.95 percent increase for the period, contributing positively with 4.69 points and 3.31 points respectively for the overall index.

In the opposite direction, slot machine maker and lottery service provider International Game Technology Plc saw its share price decline by 10.24 percent in November, contributing negatively for the overall index with 7.17 points.

Japan’s Konami Corp contributed negative 9.85 points to the index due to a 6.63 percent decline in stock price, while Australia-based slot machine maker Aristocrat Leisure Ltd contributed negative 4.79 points, after its share price fell 2.22 percent in November.

AGEM Index November 2016

The AGEM Index is computed based on the month-end stock price (adjusted for dividends and splits) of each company and weighted based on approximation of market capitalisation. It is based on a 100-point value recorded as of January 2005.

AGEM is a non-profit international trade association representing manufacturers and suppliers of electronic gaming devices, systems, table games, online technology, key components and support products and services for the gaming industry.
