Everi Holdings Inc, a specialist in cash handling technology and electronic game content for the casino industry, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Harper Ko (pictured) as executive vice president and chief legal officer – general counsel, effective immediately.

Ms Ko will be directly responsible for all of Everi’s legal and regulatory compliance affairs, the firm said in a press release.

“Harper brings to our executive team a deep knowledge and expertise of the gaming industry’s unique regulatory and compliance issues as well as a significant track record of success in helping to foster commercial relationships with customers and vendors,” said Michael Rumbolz, president and chief executive of Everi, in a prepared statement.

Ms Ko is described in Tuesday’s release as having more than 17 years of corporate legal and regulatory compliance experience on behalf of gaming equipment suppliers and casino operators. She most recently served as deputy general counsel of gaming for casino equipment supplier and lottery services business Scientific Games Corp.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Ko said: “I was attracted to Everi and the opportunities for continued growth in its games and payments segments as well as its commitment to integrity in its business practices.”

The Everi brand was formed in August 2015, following a US$1.1-billion cash-consideration merger in December 2014 of Las Vegas-based Global Cash Access Holdings Inc and Multimedia Games Holding Co Inc.
