July visitor arrivals rose 14.5 percent year-on-year in Macau, to nearly 3.46 million. Tourists from the Chinese mainland accounted for 74.1 percent of the total, or just over 2.56-million arrivals.
In the first seven months of 2025, Macau recorded nearly 22.68-million arrivals from all markets, up 14.9 percent year-on-year. The seven-month tally of same-day visitors and overnight visitors grew by 25.5 percent and 2.8 percent, to reach respectively just over 13.16 million and just above 9.51 million.
That is according to data issued on Friday by Macau’s Statistics and Census Bureau.
In July specifically, the tally of same-day visitors and overnight visitors to the city rose 24.1 percent and 3.7 percent year-on-year respectively, to just over 1.98 million and nearly 1.48 million.
Average length of stay held steady year-on-year at 1.2 days. The average for overnight visitors was unchanged at 2.4 days, while that for same-day visitors went down by 0.1 of a day, to 0.2 of a day.
The aggregate number of visitors in July from the Chinese mainland increased 17.4 percent year-on-year to just over 2.56 million.
The tally of mainlanders coming to Macau under China’s exit visa system for independent travellers, the Individual Visit Scheme, accounted for just above 1.36 million journeys. That was up 23.6 percent year-on-year, and represented 53.1 percent of all arrivals from the mainland.
International visitors totalled 177,774 in July, up by 2.8 percent year-on-year. They were 5.1 percent of July’s total.
