Canada-based DEQ Systems Corp, a provider of proprietary table games to the casino industry, says it has supplied 11 of its EZ Baccarat tables to the Asian-themed Lucky Dragon Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. The property opened to the public on December 3.

“We have great confidence that Lucky Dragon will prove to be a winner with local Asian players, and will have the power to attract feeder markets from California to Beijing,” said Rich Slack, vice president of gaming operations at Lucky Dragon, as quoted in DEQ’s press release.

EZ Baccarat accelerates the speed of play by eliminating the need for commission payments. Players can also make optional side wagers called Dragon 7 and Panda 8.

On August 31, casino equipment and lottery services firm Scientific Games Corp announced a definitive agreement to acquire DEQ for a total consideration of CAD27.2 million (US$20.2 million).

Lucky Dragon’s website says the property has a nine-storey hotel with 203 rooms and suites; and 27,500 square feet (2,555 sq metres) of casino space.

On December 2, China’s Hainan Airlines Co Ltd launched the first non-stop passenger aircraft service linking China’s capital Beijing and Las Vegas.
